About Wentworth House
Here at Wentworth House, we provide residential care for older people in the heart of Lytham St Annes, one of Lancashire's most welcoming and well regarded coastal towns. We think the location says something about how we approach care generally — calm, considered and rooted in the local community. We offer residential care, older person care and respite care, meaning we support people at different stages and in different circumstances. Some of the people who live with us have been here for years and this is very much their home. Others come to us for a shorter stay, perhaps to recover after a spell in hospital or to give a family member a well earned break. We try to make every person feel equally at home, whatever the reason they are with us. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, and we are proud of that. It reflects the effort our whole team puts in day to day, not in grand gestures but in the small things that genuinely matter to people — knowing how someone takes their tea, remembering what music they enjoy, making time for a proper conversation. We believe care works best when people feel known rather than just looked after. That means listening carefully when someone first moves in and continuing to listen as their needs and preferences change over time. Families are always welcome here and we encourage them to stay closely involved, because the people who matter most to a resident matter to us too. If you are exploring options for yourself or someone you love, we would always encourage you to come and visit us. Wentworth House is the kind of place that is much better experienced in person than described on a page.
