About The Croft Care Home
We are The Croft Care Home in Clitheroe, a residential care home for older people, and we also support younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available for planned breaks and for recovery after illness or a hospital admission. What we provide is daily life, well supported. Help with washing, dressing, mobility and medication given without hurry. Meals cooked here, served at a sociable hour, with food people actually want to eat. Laundry and housekeeping taken off people's hands. Staff awake and available through the night. We work closely with local general practitioners, district nurses and therapists so that health needs are dealt with promptly and, where possible, without anyone having to leave home to sort them out. For residents living with dementia we hold routines steady, keep familiar belongings within reach and follow the person's own version of the day rather than arguing with it. Knowing what someone did for a living, where they grew up and who they love is genuinely useful, and we ask families to share it. Clitheroe and the countryside around it matter to many of the people living here, and we support residents to keep their local connections, visitors and habits going. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we are always happy to show people round.
