We care for older people and for younger adults, including people living with dementia and people managing mental health conditions, and we offer respite stays for those who need somewhere for a short period. Our view of residential care is fairly simple. People move in because living alone has stopped working, not because they have stopped being themselves. So we spend time learning about the person who arrives: the work they did, the people who matter to them, what they like doing, what they cannot stand, how they take their tea. For people living with dementia, we keep the environment calm and predictable and we take our lead from the person in front of us rather than correcting them.
