About Kirkstall Lodge
Kirkstall Lodge is a residential care home in Lambeth supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people living with mental health conditions. This is a home, and we run it as one. Everybody has their own room and their own belongings, and the day is shaped by the people who live here rather than by a staff timetable. Support is agreed with each person and with those who know them best, and it ranges from full help with personal care through to prompting and encouragement while somebody manages things for themselves. Communication is at the centre of the work. We take time to learn how each person makes themselves understood, what settles them, what they find difficult and what their behaviour is telling us when they cannot say it plainly. What we learn is written down and shared so that everybody supports the person in the same way. People are supported to have a life outside the house, keeping up activities and interests, getting out into the local area, attending appointments and staying in touch with family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for somebody, please contact us. We will assess carefully and say honestly if we are not the right service.
