About Mayfair Lodge
We are a residential care home in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, caring for older people and for younger adults who need residential support, including people living with dementia or a physical disability. Our approach is not complicated. We find out how somebody likes their day to run and then try to keep it that way, with help added where it is needed rather than everywhere. That might mean assistance with washing, dressing and medication in the morning, support to move about safely during the day, and the reassurance of somebody nearby at night. Meals matter here rather more than the word suggests. They mark out the day, they bring people together, and they are one of the few things everybody has an opinion about, so we ask what people want and we do not rush them. For people living with dementia we keep routines and faces familiar and allow plenty of time for things that used to be quick. Anxiety usually eases with company and patience rather than explanation. Relatives are welcome to visit and to be as involved as the person wants them to be. We offer respite and short stays as well as permanent places. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated the home Good. If you would like to see the home, please ring and arrange a time.
