About Beane River View
Beane River View is a residential care home in Hertford. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we support younger adults too. We also offer respite stays. Most of what makes a care home good happens quietly and every day. Food people actually want to eat. Being helped to the bathroom without waiting. Laundry that comes back. Knowing the name of whoever is on this evening. Somebody noticing that you have been quieter than usual for a few days. We put our effort there rather than into anything that reads well at a distance. For residents with physical disabilities we plan the practical side around what somebody can still manage themselves rather than what is quickest for us, because independence given up for convenience is rarely handed back. For those living with dementia we protect the routine and keep the surroundings familiar, and we ask families for the working life, the places and the names. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather keep improving quietly than talk about having improved.
