About The Radley Care Home
We are The Radley Care Home in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and younger adults. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we are not going to write around it. We have looked closely at what the inspection found, changed how care is planned, recorded and reviewed, and strengthened the training and supervision of our staff. Our progress is being monitored, and we tell relatives the same things we tell the regulator. That is a wide range of needs under one roof, and it only works if we plan around individuals rather than running one routine for everyone. Somebody who wants a busy, sociable day and somebody who needs quiet and a predictable rhythm can both live well here, provided we pay proper attention to who needs what. For people living with dementia, the useful work is in the detail: knowing a person's history and going at their pace. If you are considering us for someone, please come and see the home and ask about the rating directly. We will answer fully rather than reassuringly.
