About Chesfield House
Chesfield House is a residential care home in Leominster supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions. We think of this as the home of the people who live in it. They arrange their own rooms, take part in the shopping and cooking as much as they want to, and decide how their days are spent. We are here to make an ordinary life possible, which means supporting people to get out to work, to college, to clubs, to appointments and to family, rather than filling a timetable for them. Support is individual and is agreed with the person. Some people here need a great deal of help and some need very little. Communication gets particular attention, and we use whatever suits each person, whether speech, signing, symbols or simply the understanding that comes from living alongside someone. Where a person is managing a mental health condition, a calm and predictable household tends to do more good than anything else we could offer. We also provide short respite stays, which give family carers a break and let somebody try the house before any longer decision is taken. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
