About Walsingham Support - Keepers Cottage
Keepers Cottage is a small residential home near Ledbury, supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, older people and people with physical disabilities. It is a house in the country rather than an institution, and we try hard to keep it feeling like somebody's home. Being small means everybody knows each other properly and the atmosphere stays calm. People choose how their room looks, join in with the cooking and shopping if they want to, and have a real say in how the household runs. Routines are built around the individual, including the ones that need to stay exactly the same, because predictability is often what allows somebody to relax. Support is agreed with each person using whatever way of communicating already works for them, and we take the time to learn it properly rather than guessing. Where physical disability is part of the picture, we pay attention to the practical detail so that the house works for a person rather than against them. Getting out matters to most people here, whether that is a regular activity, seeing family or a trip into Ledbury that has become part of the week. Respite stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
