About Langley House
Langley House is a residential care home in Romford. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and respite stays are part of what we do. Our priorities are plain: food worth eating, warm rooms, laundry that comes back with the right name in it, help that arrives without a long wait, and privacy when privacy is what somebody wants. Residents set their own hours rather than fitting ours. For residents living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the surroundings unchanged, and we ask relatives early for the history, because it is much harder to gather later and it is what makes somebody's remarks comprehensible rather than confusing. For residents with physical disabilities we plan around what a person can still manage themselves rather than what is fastest for us, because independence given up for convenience is rarely handed back. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. Come at a mealtime and watch whether anybody is sitting waiting for help to eat, because that tells you more than any rating.
