About Carlton House Rest Home

Carlton House Rest Home is a residential care home in New Milton, Hampshire. We support older people who need help with daily living, along with younger adults, residents living with dementia or a mental health condition, people with a physical disability and those living with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available for shorter periods. We support a broad mix of people here, so we plan around individuals rather than working to a formula. Residents decide when they get up, how they spend their time and what they eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered. There is company and activity for those who want it and no pressure on anyone who does not. Staff take time to learn what helps a particular resident feel settled and what unsettles them, which matters enormously for anyone living with dementia or managing a mental health condition. For residents with a sensory impairment we make sure conversation and information actually reach them. We keep close contact with GPs, community mental health teams and district nurses so that health concerns are dealt with quickly, and we keep families properly informed. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Please come and look round.
