About Deja Vu
Deja Vu is a residential care home in Lindford in Hampshire, supporting adults, including younger adults, who have a learning disability or autism. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. We think of the people here as living in their own home rather than being placed in a service, and we try to make that real rather than a form of words. People arrange their own rooms, keep their own routines and have a genuine say in how the house is run. Support is offered for the parts of life that are hard and withdrawn from the parts that are not, because independence grows when it is given room. Day to day that might mean cooking and shopping together, sorting out money, learning a route into town, keeping a job or a course going, or having the right help with appointments and letters. Where somebody communicates without speech we take time to learn how they do communicate and we write it down so that all our staff respond in the same way rather than guessing. When life becomes difficult we look for the reason instead of the label, and we agree in advance, in calm moments, what actually helps. We work with families, social workers and health colleagues and we keep them properly informed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please visit as often as you need before deciding anything.
