About Kiln Lodge
Kiln Lodge is a residential care home in Fareham, caring for older people who can no longer manage safely on their own. We aim for the feel of a household rather than an institution, with people keeping their own routines, their own belongings and a genuine say in how their day is spent. We support people living with dementia, and that work depends on continuity above all else. Knowing what somebody's day used to look like, keeping as much of it as we can and understanding what sits behind distress rather than simply managing it is what makes the difference between a settled day and a hard one. Respite stays are available too, whether somebody needs care for a short period after illness or a family carer needs a genuine break. We plan short stays with the same attention as a permanent move. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take that as the standard to hold rather than something to point at. The more telling measure is whether people here seem settled, whether mealtimes are sociable and whether relatives feel able to say when something is not right. Please come and see us.
