About Old Cottage
Old Alresford Cottage is a residential care home in Alresford, Hampshire. We are a permanent home to older people and to some younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. The people who live with us need different things. Many need help with personal care, moving about safely, medication and meals. A number are living with dementia, and for them we keep the day recognisable, keep the same staff around and work at their pace rather than ours. We also support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, and people living with mental ill health, working alongside the community teams involved in their care. We want to be straightforward with you. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather tell you that here than let you find it elsewhere. We know what the inspectors raised with us, we are working through it, and we are willing to discuss any part of it with anybody considering a place here or already living with us. What we are aiming for is a small house that feels like a home, with food cooked here, a garden that gets used, and visitors welcome without appointment. Please come and see us and ask us anything.
