About Holmdale
Here at Holmdale, we are a care home based in Runcorn, Halton, and we take genuine pride in the support we provide to the people who live with us and those who visit us for short stays. We specialise in residential care, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, and providing respite care for those who need a temporary place to stay while their usual carers take a well earned break. We understand that choosing a care home, whether for yourself or someone you love, is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We do not take that responsibility lightly. Our approach is straightforward: we get to know each person as an individual. What matters to them, how they like to spend their time, what makes them feel comfortable and at home. For the people we support with learning disabilities and autism, that means creating an environment that feels predictable, calm and tailored to their specific needs. Routines matter, communication matters, and above all, dignity and respect matter. For those joining us for respite stays, we aim to make the transition as smooth and stress free as possible. A short stay should feel welcoming rather than unsettling, and we work hard to ensure that is the experience people have from the moment they arrive. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good. That outcome reflects the work of our whole team and, more importantly, it reflects the trust that residents and their families place in us every day. If you would like to find out more about life at Holmdale or discuss whether we might be the right fit for you or your loved one, we would be very happy to have that conversation.

Will they support end of life care, so there is no move at the hardest time?
Ask the home. End of life care is not listed on the register. Ask the manager whether residents can remain in the home with hospice or district nurse support.

Ask the home. We do not know whether the home has rooms for couples. Ask about shared or adjoining rooms if this matters.
Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up.
Do they take younger adults as well as older people?
Ask the home. The register does not say which age groups the home supports. Ask the home.
Can I visit before deciding, and are there visiting hours?
