About Montbelle Road

Montbelle Road is a small residential home in Greenwich, south east London, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays, arranged in advance so that a short stay is a visit somewhere known. We are a house on an ordinary street and we run it as the residents' home. People choose how their rooms look, help plan the shopping and the meals, and get involved in cooking and looking after the place as much as they want. Support covers personal care where it is needed, medication, health appointments and money, and it covers helping people get out to whatever interests them. London is on the doorstep, and we are willing to do the planning and the practising that it takes to use it confidently. Communication is where we concentrate most. Some people here use speech, others use signs, symbols or a device, and others tell us a great deal through their behaviour. We take the time to learn it, we record what we learn so it survives a change of staff, and we listen to families and to the health colleagues who know somebody well. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families and professionals considering a placement are welcome to visit and see how the house actually runs.
