About Melba Lodge
Here at Melba Lodge, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Greenwich, London. We support people with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and alcohol or drug misuse challenges. We also offer respite care for those who need short term support, and we work with younger adults who are taking their first steps toward greater independence. We know that coming into a care home, whether for a short stay or something longer term, can feel like a big step. Our aim is to make sure that from the moment someone walks through our door, they feel genuinely welcomed and at ease. We take the time to get to know each person properly, understanding their history, their preferences, and what matters most to them in their day to day life. Supporting people with such varied and complex needs means we have to be thoughtful and flexible in how we work. No two people are the same, and we do not treat them as though they are. Care plans are built around the individual, and we review them regularly to make sure they still reflect where that person is and where they want to be. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of "good". That matters to us, not as an endpoint but as a marker of where we are and what we continue to build on. Our location in Greenwich means residents can access a vibrant part of London, with green spaces, local amenities, and community life all within reach. We actively encourage people to stay connected to the things they enjoy and the communities they belong to. If you would like to find out more about Melba Lodge, we would be very happy to hear from you.
