About Milestones
We are a residential care home in Cinderford, in the Forest of Dean, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and older people who need residential care. It is a small home, and that suits the way we work, since it means staff know everybody properly rather than reading about them in a file. Support is built around each person. Some of those living here want help to become more independent, learning to cook, manage money or use local transport with growing confidence. Others need a good deal of support with everyday things, and what matters then is that it is given patiently and in the way the person prefers. We keep hold of the ordinary. Shopping trips, seeing family, walks, hobbies, a favourite programme, a job or a college course. We plan the week with the people who live here rather than for them, and we are flexible when somebody changes their mind. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated the home Good. If you or somebody you support is looking for a place, please get in touch. You are welcome to visit, meet the team and see whether it feels right.
