About Faithfull House
Faithfull House is a residential care home in Cheltenham. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for families who need a planned break. We try to let the day belong to the people living it. Nobody is woken for our convenience, nobody is hurried through a meal, and nobody has to justify wanting a quiet afternoon. Dementia care here rests on knowing people. We ask families for the history, the working life, the places and the music, because those are what still connect when much else has slipped. Without them we would be managing a condition rather than keeping company with a person, and residents notice the difference even when they cannot name it. A short stay still has to be a good one. We find out beforehand about routines, food and preferences, since two weeks of guesswork would be unfair on everybody. We take complaints seriously rather than defensively. If a resident or a relative raises something, we would rather deal with it properly that week than let it become a grievance. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather show you round on a busy morning than a quiet one.
