About Stambridge Meadows Care Home
Stambridge Meadows Care Home is a residential care home in Rochford, Essex. We provide a home for older people, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss, and we also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Our aim is an unhurried, familiar place where people keep their own routines and their own things around them. We ask about preferences in detail, because how somebody likes their morning to go is not a trivial matter when it is the shape of their whole day. Residents choose how much company they want and how much time to themselves, and we try to make both genuinely possible. We should be open with you about our position. The Care Quality Commission most recently judged that we require improvement overall. We have not tried to talk our way around that. We accepted the findings, we have a plan of work in place, and we are progressing it alongside colleagues in health and the local authority. We would rather families heard this from us directly than discovered it later. If you are considering Stambridge Meadows for someone you love, please come and visit. Look at the home properly, speak to the staff and the residents, and ask us exactly what the concerns were and what we have changed since. Those are the right questions to ask of any home, and we will answer them plainly rather than steering you towards a brochure.
