About Woodbury Court
Woodbury Court is a residential care home in Laindon. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people who live with sight or hearing loss, and we take respite bookings for short stays. Our aim is a home where needing help with some things does not mean losing control over everything else. People choose when to get up, how they spend the day and how much company they want. Where somebody needs support with washing, dressing or moving about safely, we provide it without making the rest of their life a matter for negotiation. For residents living with dementia we keep the surroundings calm and familiar and we take our lead from the person rather than correcting them. Where somebody has sight or hearing loss, we make sure information genuinely reaches them, and we do not let a communication difficulty turn into being left out of conversations about their own care. Meals are cooked here and we take an interest in what people actually enjoy. Families are welcome without appointments or formality, and we would rather they visited often.
