Here at Ducks Halt, we are a residential care home nestled in the village of Kirby le Soken in Essex, and we are proud to offer a genuinely homely environment where the people in our care feel safe, valued and at ease. We support a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with a learning disability or autism, mental health needs, or a physical disability. We also provide respite care for those who need a short break from their usual routine, as well as for the families and carers who support them. Whatever brings someone to our door, we take the time to get to know each person properly, understanding what matters to them in their daily life and building our support around that. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as good, and that reflects the genuine effort our team puts in every day. We do not take that rating for granted. Kirby le Soken is a peaceful and welcoming part of Essex, and we feel that setting very much shapes the calm and relaxed atmosphere we have worked hard to create at Ducks Halt. Life here is unhurried. Residents are encouraged to maintain their independence wherever possible, to keep up with hobbies and interests they enjoy, and to feel that this is genuinely their home.
