About Four Winds
Here at Four Winds, we are a care home based in Colchester, Essex, and we are proud to provide a warm, supportive environment where the people who live with us feel genuinely at home. We support a range of individuals across our home, including older people, younger adults, and those living with a learning disability or autism. We also offer respite care for those who need a short stay, whether that is to give a family member or carer some time to rest, or simply to offer someone a change of surroundings with the right level of support in place. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, and that means a great deal to us. We do not take that rating for granted. It reflects the effort and thoughtfulness that goes into everyday life here, from the way we plan care around each person as an individual, to the way we talk with families and make sure they always feel informed and involved. What we try to get right, above all else, is the feel of the place. We want Four Winds to feel like a real home rather than a facility. That means listening carefully to what matters to each person, respecting their routines and preferences, and making sure they have choice and a sense of control over their own daily lives. We work closely with families, health professionals, and local community organisations to make sure the support we offer is joined up and responsive. If you are looking for care for yourself or someone you love, we would always encourage you to come and visit us, have a look around, and ask us whatever questions you have. We are happy to talk things through at whatever pace feels right for you.
