About Butterfly's Care Home
Butterfly's Care Home is a residential care home in Colchester, Essex, supporting adults who need help with everyday living in a place that feels like a home rather than a unit. The people who live here are a varied group. Some are older adults who need help with personal care, mobility and medication. Some have a learning disability or are autistic. Others are managing mental health conditions or living with a physical disability, and we support younger adults as well as older people. What holds it together is treating everyone as an individual with their own history, preferences and opinions. We start with the person. We find out how they communicate, what they want help with, what they would rather do for themselves and what matters enough to be worth protecting. Support plans are written with them, and with families or advocates where that is wanted, and we revisit them as circumstances change. We also offer respite stays, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and properly staffed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that, though what we watch most closely is whether the people living here are content with their days. If you would like to visit, please get in touch and we will arrange a time. Come and look round, meet the staff and ask us whatever you want to know before deciding anything.
