About Belamacanda
Belamacanda is a residential home in Clacton on Sea, caring for older people, for younger adults, and for people living with a physical disability. We are close enough to the sea that a trip out along the front is part of ordinary life here rather than a special occasion. We provide the sort of help that makes staying independent possible: support with washing, dressing, mobility and medication, given quietly and at the pace a person prefers. We ask people how they have always liked things done, write it down, and expect staff to follow it, because moving into a home should not mean giving up your own habits. For people with physical disabilities we pay close attention to the practical side, from equipment and getting about safely to making sure the house works for someone rather than against them. We keep in close contact with GPs, district nurses and therapists, and we chase things up rather than waiting to be asked twice. Meals are cooked here, visitors are welcome whenever they want to come, and there is company available for those who want it and peace for those who do not. We also offer respite stays, whether to give a carer a rest or to help someone regain confidence after illness. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we would be glad to show you round.
