About Imola
Imola is a residential care home in Braintree, Essex, supporting adults who need help with daily living in an ordinary house rather than an institutional setting. Much of our work is with adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, and with younger adults. We take time at the start to get to know each person properly. That means learning how they communicate, what a good day looks like for them, what they find difficult and what they would like to be able to do for themselves. Support plans are written with the person, and with family or an advocate where that is wanted, and they change as people change. Independence runs through the place. If somebody can do something themselves, or could learn to with patient backing, our job is to make that possible rather than to take it over. That might be cooking a meal, managing money, using local transport, or getting out to something a person genuinely enjoys. We also offer respite stays, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and properly staffed. People who come for short stays are part of the household rather than guests. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at options for yourself or someone you care about, you would be welcome to visit. Please get in touch and we will arrange a time for you to come and see the house.
