About The Hollies
The Hollies is a residential care home in Enfield, north London, offering older people a comfortable place to live with support close at hand. We are not a large institution and we do not try to run like one. Days here are shaped by the people living them, with the kitchen, the lounge and the garden used as they would be in any household. A good part of our work is supporting residents living with dementia. We do that by learning who each person is, keeping the day predictable, using familiar routines and objects, and giving people time rather than hurrying them through. When someone is unsettled we look for the reason instead of treating it as behaviour to be corrected. Our team helps with personal care, medication, mobility and meals, and equally with the things that make a day worth having: a conversation, a walk outside, music, or simply being left in peace with a newspaper when that is what somebody wants. Relatives are welcome whenever they can come. We also provide respite stays, which can give a family carer a break or offer a gentle trial for someone thinking about a move. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us Good overall. If you would like to visit, please get in touch and come at a normal time of day rather than a staged one.
