About Oak House
Oak House is a residential home in Enfield supporting adults living with mental health conditions. We provide a settled place to live, which for many of the people who come to us is the thing that has been missing. Stability does a great deal of the work. Somewhere secure to live, a routine that holds, support with medication and appointments, and people around who know you and notice when things are shifting. Beyond that we encourage independence wherever it is wanted, whether that means cooking for yourself, managing your own money, keeping up with education or work, or rebuilding contact with family. Progress is not a straight line and we do not treat a difficult spell as a failure. We work closely with community mental health teams and with the people who know each resident from before they arrived here. Decisions about someone's care are made with them, and we would rather have a longer conversation than a quicker one that leaves the person out of it. We also take respite bookings, which can offer a period of support and structure when someone needs it for a short time. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
