About Minchenden Lodge

Minchenden Lodge is a residential care home in Enfield. We support older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. We want this to feel like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been placed. Rooms are personal, people get up and go to bed when it suits them, nobody is made to join in with anything and visitors call in without booking. If somebody has always taken their time over breakfast with the paper, that can carry on here. Staff help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and moving about, and they do it in a way that keeps somebody's dignity intact. For people living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried, we keep staff teams consistent where we can, and we ask relatives to tell us about a person's history. Knowing what somebody did for a living, what they have always enjoyed and who matters to them is usually what allows us to reassure rather than correct. We also support younger adults, and we plan individually rather than expecting somebody several decades younger to fit a pattern designed around older residents. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round, meet the team and talk to families of people who already live here before deciding anything.
