About Wynford House
Wynford House is a residential care home in Seaford, East Sussex, supporting older people who need residential care, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, younger adults and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available as well. With that range of people living here, no single routine would suit everybody, so we plan around individuals. Some residents need a steady hand with personal care, medication and mobility. Others mainly need structure, confidence and somebody reliable nearby while they do things for themselves, whether that is cooking, managing money or getting out to something they enjoy. Independence here is practical rather than decorative. People choose their own furnishings, decide how a weekend goes and hold on to the routines that make a day feel like their own. Where somebody finds change unsettling we keep things predictable and give warning well ahead, and where communication is difficult we learn a person's own way of making themselves understood instead of expecting them to adapt to us. Knowing people properly is what makes the difference. Staff who understand what a good day looks like for somebody notice when things start to slip, and that is usually what prevents a small difficulty becoming a crisis. Families and professionals are kept informed and are welcome at times that suit them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
