About The Green Residential Care Home

The Green Residential Care Home is at Ellerker in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available. Being a small home in a village is the point rather than a limitation. Everybody knows everybody, nobody gets lost in a system, and we can arrange things around the people living here rather than around a rota. Many of those living with us have known this part of Yorkshire all their lives, so the community keeps coming through the door, and visitors are welcome at whatever hour works for them. Because our residents have genuinely different needs, we plan care one person at a time. What settles somebody with dementia is not what helps a younger adult with a physical disability feel independent. Where sight or hearing loss is involved, habits matter more than equipment: saying who you are as you come into a room, leaving furniture exactly where it lives, checking that glasses and hearing aids are clean and working. People here decide when they get up, what they eat and how they spend the day, and we would far rather a concern reached us early and bluntly than be stored up for months. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
