About Primrose House Care Home
Primrose House Care Home is a residential care home in Brough, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We look after older people, including those living with dementia, adults with physical disabilities and younger adults, and we welcome people for respite stays as well as on a permanent basis. We keep this a home rather than an institution. Rooms belong to the people in them, with their own furniture, photographs and clutter, and the day runs at the pace of those living here. There is company and activity for anyone who wants it and quiet for anyone who does not, and the food is meant to be enjoyed. For people living with dementia, consistency does most of the good. Familiar faces, a predictable routine, surroundings that make sense and time given rather than rushed. We learn about people's earlier lives so that conversation has somewhere to go. Where somebody with a physical disability wants to keep doing things for themselves, we make sure the equipment and layout support that rather than getting in the way. Our staff know the people here well, which is how changes in health get picked up early and taken to the GP or district nurse before they turn serious. Families are welcome and involved in reviews. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please ring if you would like to look round.
