About Support for Living - 26 Stockdove Way
We are Support for Living at 26 Stockdove Way in Perivale, a small residential care home in the Ealing area supporting adults with a learning disability and adults who are autistic. We also offer respite stays. A small house means people are known as individuals, and that is the whole basis of good support. We learn how each person communicates, what they enjoy, what unsettles them and how they like things done, and we build support around that rather than around a house routine. People choose their own food, keep their own belongings and habits, and have a say in what happens here. Being in west London has practical advantages. People can get out locally, keep in touch with family, use the shops, parks and transport, and carry on with the activities that matter to them. Where somebody wants to do more for themselves, we support that patiently and at their pace. When someone is distressed, we work on the assumption that there is a reason for it. Finding the reason takes time and knowing the person, and it is a far better answer than trying to control the behaviour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to visit or discuss a placement or a respite stay, please get in touch.
