About Support for Living - 43 Shirley Gardens
43 Shirley Gardens is a small residential care home in Ealing, west London, supporting adults living with mental ill health. We also offer respite stays for people who need a place for a shorter period. This is a house where a handful of people live, not a ward. That distinction shapes everything. People have their own rooms, their own routines and their own front door, and they take part in shopping, cooking and running the place as much as they want to and are able to. Some of the people here have come from long hospital stays and are finding their footing again. Some are settled and simply want somewhere stable to live. Both are legitimate. Our support is practical. Help with medication and appointments, with benefits, letters and forms, with cooking and keeping a room in order, and with getting out into Ealing and staying connected to friends and family. Just as importantly, our staff know people well enough to spot early signs that somebody is becoming unwell, and to act with the person, their GP and the community mental health team before things escalate. We involve people in decisions about their own care rather than deciding around them, and we expect to be challenged when we get it wrong. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Referrals and enquiries are welcome.
