About Gladstone House
Ours is a residential care home in Stourbridge supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and adults living with mental health needs. It is a house first, and the people who live here are adults with their own routines, interests and views about how their day should run. Support is agreed with each person rather than decided for them. For some that means practical help with personal care, cooking, laundry and managing money. For others it is about having someone steady alongside while they get out to work, college or the things they enjoy, or while they manage situations that would otherwise feel overwhelming. We pay close attention to how someone communicates and to what in their surroundings helps them feel settled, because getting that right prevents a great deal of avoidable distress. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family a planned break and can let someone get used to us gradually rather than all at once. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather say so plainly, and we are happy to answer direct questions about how we work and how we support our staff. If you would like to visit and see whether this might be the right place, please get in touch and we will arrange a time.
