About Mile Oak Rest Home
Here at Mile Oak Rest Home in Wimborne, Dorset, we provide a warm and homely environment where older people can feel genuinely comfortable, safe and well looked after. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the care and commitment our whole team brings to daily life here. We support residents with a range of needs, including residential care, dementia care, physical disability and visual or hearing impairment. We also welcome people on a respite basis, whether that is to give a family carer a much needed break or to help someone recover after a spell in hospital. Whatever brings someone through our door, we take the time to get to know them properly, understanding their routines, preferences and the things that matter most to them. Dementia care is something we take particularly seriously. We know how unsettling life can feel for someone living with dementia, and we work hard to create an atmosphere that feels calm, familiar and reassuring. Our approach is person centred, meaning we always start with the individual rather than applying a one size fits all method. We are rooted in the local Wimborne community and many of our residents have spent their lives in and around Dorset. That connection to the area matters to us, and we do our best to help residents maintain their links with family, friends and the wider community as much as possible. Families often tell us that what they notice first is the atmosphere when they walk in. We hope it feels like a real home, because that is exactly what we want it to be. If you are considering care for yourself or a loved one, we would be very happy to have a conversation and show you around at a time that suits you.
