About Walc House
Here at Walc House, we provide residential care for younger adults with learning disabilities and autism, in the heart of Swanage, Dorset. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine commitment of our whole team to supporting the people who live with us. We know that choosing the right care home is one of the most important decisions a person or family can make, and we do not take that trust lightly. Our focus is on getting to know each individual properly, understanding what matters to them day to day, and making sure that life here feels like home rather than a facility. For us, that means listening carefully, being consistent, and making space for people to live as independently as possible on their own terms. As well as supporting people on a long term residential basis, we also offer respite care, which can give family carers a much needed break while knowing their loved one is in a familiar, supportive environment. Whether someone stays with us for a short period or makes Walc House their permanent home, they receive the same level of attention and care throughout. Swanage is a wonderful place to be based, and we make the most of the local community and surroundings as part of everyday life here. We believe that connection to the wider world, whether through local activities, relationships, or simply getting outdoors, plays a real part in wellbeing. If you would like to find out more about what we offer, or simply want to come and have a look around and ask questions, we would be very happy to welcome you. We think the best way to understand what Walc House is really like is to see it for yourself.
