About Seabrook House
Seabrook House is a small residential care home in Exeter supporting adults living with mental health conditions, including many younger adults. We keep the house small deliberately. Being properly known by the people who support you does more good than any programme, and stability tends to grow out of ordinary daily life rather than out of close supervision. Residents have their own room, their own routine and a real voice in how the house runs. Our job is to be dependable. Staff who know a person well enough to spot a change before it becomes a crisis. Support with medication and appointments that is reliable without being overbearing. Practical help with cooking, budgeting and giving a week some shape, so that independence is something a person can actually use. Some of the people living here are working towards a place of their own, and we plan that in detail rather than leaving it as a vague ambition. Others need somewhere settled for a longer period, which is just as good an outcome. We work closely with community mental health teams, general practitioners and social workers, and we are straightforward in those conversations even when the news is not what anyone wanted. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
