About Highbray Residential Care Home
Highbray Residential Care Home is in Exeter, supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with mental health needs and people living with dementia. Many of those who live here are younger adults, and we plan around individuals rather than running one routine for the house. Support is worked out one person at a time. Some residents want help with most parts of the day; others need very little practical help but rely on us for structure, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what a difficult day looks like for them. We take our time over that at the start and we listen to the people who know somebody best. For residents with mental health needs a calm, predictable household does more good than anything written in a plan, and we work closely with local services and doctors. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent and take time to work out what lies behind a change in mood. Everyday life includes cooking, shopping, keeping your own room as you want it, choosing how to spend the day and getting out locally. Respite stays are available. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
