About Kite House
Here at Kite House, we provide residential care for younger adults with learning disabilities and autism, situated in the heart of Crediton, Devon. We are proud to be a place where the people we support feel genuinely at home, and where their individual needs, preferences and personalities shape everything we do. Our focus is on supporting people to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. Whether someone is with us long term or staying for a period of respite care, we work hard to understand what matters to them and to build support around that. We know that moving into a care setting, or trying one for the first time, can feel daunting for both individuals and their families, so we make it a priority to be open, approachable and honest from the very first conversation. We support people with a range of learning disabilities and autism, and our team has real experience in understanding how to communicate well and adapt to different needs. We do not take a one size fits all approach. Routines, communication styles and daily activities are shaped by the people who live here, not handed down from above. Crediton is a warm and welcoming market town, and we make good use of everything the local area and the wider Devon countryside has to offer. Community connection matters to us, and we encourage and support people to be part of life beyond our front door, wherever that is possible and wanted. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, which reflects the commitment of everyone who works here. We are always looking at how we can improve and grow, listening to the people we support, their families and our staff to make Kite House the best it can be.
