About Saint Elkas Care Home
Saint Elkas Care Home in Chesterfield provides residential care for adults living with mental health conditions. The people who come to live here have usually had a long period in which little has felt stable. What we offer first is steadiness. The days here are predictable, the staff are familiar, and nothing changes without it being talked through properly. Everybody has their own room and their own routine, and there is somebody available at any hour. Our staff help with the practical side of life, with prompting and support around medication, and with the ordinary business of getting through a day when that has become hard. We work closely with the mental health professionals involved in each person's care so that everybody is working to the same plan rather than in different directions. A lot of what we do is deliberately ordinary. Cooking, shopping, looking after your own space, managing money, keeping appointments and getting out into Chesterfield are all things we do alongside people rather than for them, because that is what rebuilds confidence. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for yourself or somebody you support, please contact us and come and see us.
