About Littlemoor House
We are Littlemoor House, a residential care home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions, including younger adults. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we are not going to write around it. We have gone through what the inspection found, changed how we plan and record support, and strengthened the training and supervision of our staff. We are being held to account for the progress we make, and we talk about it openly with the people who live here, their families and those who commission their care. What we are trying to protect while we do that work is the ordinary business of living here. This is a home, and small enough for us to know people properly. What somebody eats, how their day runs, what they want from their week and how much company they want are matters for them. Where change is difficult, we keep things predictable and prepare carefully for anything unusual. Where somebody wants to be busy, with work, college or regular groups, we plan for that deliberately. If you are considering Littlemoor House, please visit and ask us about the rating. We would rather answer that directly than have it hanging over the conversation.
