About Lapstone House
Here at Lapstone House, we provide residential care for a range of people in the heart of Millom, Cumberland. We support older adults, younger adults living with physical disabilities, and those living with dementia, as well as people with visual or hearing impairments. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether that is to give a family carer a break or to support someone during a period of recovery or change. We know that moving into a care home, or choosing one for someone you love, is one of the most significant decisions a family can face. We try to make that process as straightforward and as honest as possible. When you visit us, you will find a friendly team who take the time to get to know each person properly, not just their care needs but their routines, their preferences, their history and what matters most to them day to day. Our most recent Care Quality Commission rating is good, and we are proud of that, though we never treat it as a reason to stand still. We continue to look at how we can improve the experience for everyone who lives here. For those living with dementia, we think carefully about how the environment, the daily routine and the way we communicate can all make a real difference to how settled and confident someone feels. The same thoughtful approach applies across everything we do, whether someone needs support with personal care, mobility, sensory needs or simply wants company and a listening ear. Lapstone House is a real part of the Millom community, and that local connection matters to us. If you would like to find out more or arrange a visit, we would be very happy to hear from you.
