About Greenlane House

We are Greenlane House, a residential care home in Brampton. We look after older people, including those living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we also support younger adults. Respite stays are available. We keep things deliberately homely. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and those come first. What time you like to wake, where you want your meals, whether you feel sociable today or would rather sit quietly: those decisions stay with you. A good deal of what makes life here pleasant is quite ordinary, and we would rather describe it plainly than dress it up. For people living with dementia the useful work is in the detail. Knowing somebody's history and the work they did, recognising early what tends to unsettle them, being willing to go at their pace rather than the rota's. Done properly that prevents a great deal of distress before it starts. We also think a home should stay part of its own town, so we support people to keep up the connections they already have, whether family nearby, a church, a club or simply the shops. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
