About Norbury Crescent
We are a residential care home on Norbury Crescent in Croydon, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Most of those living here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays. There are only a handful of people living here, which is exactly why it works. Familiarity is real, routines are personal, and nobody has to explain themselves twice. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the place runs. Where somebody wants a job, a course or a club, we treat that as the purpose of our support rather than an extra added on. Being in London helps, because buses, colleges, work and places to meet people are all within reach. Predictability is something we take particularly seriously. For many of those living here, knowing exactly what is happening and who will be on shift is the difference between a settled day and a difficult one. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The measure we use internally is how quickly a concern gets dealt with.
