About Holly Lodge Care Home
Holly Lodge Care Home is a residential care home in Shildon, County Durham, providing a home for older people and for younger adults who need help with everyday life. We support people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with mental health conditions. We run the home at the pace of the people in it. Breakfast happens when somebody wakes rather than when a trolley comes round, and the day takes the shape a person wants it to take. The help covers washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, mobility and the many small practical things that become difficult alone, given in a way that leaves dignity intact. For those living with dementia and for people managing mental health conditions, we have found that patience and familiarity achieve more than any amount of procedure. Our staff tend to stay, which means people here are looked after by faces they know, and that continuity is worth a great deal when memory or mood is unreliable. Families are welcome whenever they want to come, and we would far rather hear a concern early than late. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
