About Petunia Grove
Petunia Grove is a residential care home in Macclesfield, and we support a mix of people: older adults who need help to keep going safely, and younger adults living with a learning disability or autism. Having that range under one roof works well when it is handled thoughtfully, and we put real effort into making sure everyone has the space, routine and company that suits them. Our approach is fairly simple. We find out what someone's day used to look like before care came into it, and we protect as much of that as we can. Getting up when you like, eating what you actually enjoy, keeping the same barber, staying in touch with the people you have always seen. Those things sound small written down, and they are the difference between living somewhere and being placed somewhere. Staff here are trained across residential and learning disability support, and we take time to understand how each person communicates and what they want to be able to do for themselves. Independence is not something we hand back once someone is settled; it is the aim from the first day. We offer respite stays as well, which suits families who need a planned break or who want to try the home before making a longer decision. Cheshire East has plenty within reach and Macclesfield itself is easy to get about in, so time out of the house is a normal part of the week. Our latest overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. Come and visit whenever suits you.
