About Knoll House
We are a residential care home in Studham, caring for older people including those living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and those affected by sight or hearing loss. Being in a village suits the way we like to work. The home is quiet, the pace is unhurried and people can sit outside or walk a little without traffic and noise pressing in. For someone living with dementia in particular, calm surroundings and a predictable rhythm to the day tend to do more good than any amount of organised activity. Our team supports people with personal care, medicines, mobility, meals and the everyday business of life, at the level each person actually needs. We learn each person's history and habits, because knowing that somebody was a teacher, or always took their tea at four, or dislikes being approached from the left, changes how well we can support them. Where someone is distressed we look for the cause instead of simply managing how it appears. Respite stays are available for people recovering after illness or whose family carer needs a proper break, and we plan them with the same thought as a permanent move. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
