About Pine Lodge

Pine Lodge is a residential care home in Bedford, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, including younger adults building their own adult lives. We run this as a home rather than a placement. The people who live here choose how their rooms look, what goes on the shopping list, what happens at the weekend and how much company they want. Our staff are here to make those choices workable, which might mean support with personal care, help with money and appointments, practical assistance to get out and about, or simply being nearby while somebody does something for themselves that takes a little longer. Autism support is worked out individually and not applied as a policy. We pay attention to sensory needs, to how much notice somebody wants before a change, and to the ways people show they are uncomfortable that have nothing to do with words. What we learn is recorded properly so that support does not depend on who happens to be on shift, and we keep revisiting it as people change. Being part of Bedford matters too. We support people to get out to college, work, clubs, the shops and the places they simply like being, and to keep up the relationships they had before they came here. Respite stays are available as well, giving families a planned break. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a visit.
