About Sandholme Fold
At Sandholme Fold, we provide residential and dementia care for older people in the heart of Halifax, Calderdale. We also offer respite care for those who need a short term stay, whether that is to recover after a hospital admission or to give a family carer some time to rest. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can face, and we do not take that lightly. Our aim is to make sure that everyone who comes through our doors feels genuinely at home, not just accommodated. That means taking time to understand each person's routine, their preferences, the things that matter to them day to day, and building care around that rather than the other way around. For people living with dementia, we understand how important familiarity, consistency and calm are. We work to create an environment where residents feel safe and recognised, and where their dignity is always maintained. We want to be straightforward with you. Our most recent CQC inspection resulted in a rating of requires improvement, and we think it is important to be open about that rather than gloss over it. We have taken the feedback seriously and we are actively working through the areas identified. Improvement takes time and sustained effort, but we are committed to making the changes needed and to being honest with families about where we are in that process. If you are considering Sandholme Fold for yourself or someone you love, we would welcome the chance to show you around and answer your questions properly. No pressure, just an honest conversation about whether we are the right fit. Please do get in touch and we will do our best to help.
